San Francisco / Guangzhou – May 6, 2025 — Leading autonomous mobility company WeRide and global ride-hailing giant Uber Technologies Inc. today announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership. The companies will now roll out WeRide’s advanced robotaxi service in 15 additional cities, marking a significant step forward in the global deployment of autonomous urban transportation.
The expanded rollout includes major international markets such as Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris, Toronto, Singapore, Berlin, and Dubai. The aim is to deliver safe, efficient, and fully autonomous rides to millions of Uber users.

The new service will allow Uber customers in participating cities to request Level 4 autonomous vehicles—self-driving cars capable of operating without human intervention in designated zones. These robotaxis are equipped with WeRide’s proprietary AI system, featuring lidar, radar, and 360-degree computer vision, all engineered for high-accuracy navigation and passenger safety.
